He is fondly called “the Father of Philippine Endocrinology” as he is the founder of the Philippine Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism, now known as the Philippine College of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.  He is also an Emeritus Professor of the College of Medicine at the University of the Philippines. Dr. Litonjua has been a recipient of numerous awards, such as from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists’ “Most Outstanding Endocrinologist Serving an Underserved Population” and the  American College of Endocrinology’s “International Clinician Award” among many others. Dr Litonjua is an active consultant at the Makati Medical Center, Asian Hospital and Manila Doctors Hospital up to this day. He continues to oversee all the programs and activities of Diabetes Center Philippines- which he founded to create awareness for Diabetes  countrywide,  training diabetes educators from all over the country and the conduction of the yearly youth camp for kids with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus.

Dr. Narvacan-Montano is the immediate Past President of the Philippine College of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and has conducted various workshops and seminars in the field of Endocrinology.  She received her Medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas and underwent Residency Training and Fellowship in Endocrinology at the Makati Medical Center. She is currently the Training Officer of both the Section of Endocrinology of the same institution and the Department of Internal Medicine in Mary Mediatrix Medical Center in Lipa City.

He finished his Medicine training in UERMMC after which he underwent Residency training in Internal Medicine in Makati Medical Center and Fellowship in Endocrinology at the Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia.
